What's your personal advocacy?

To always do everything in my power to lift up others.

What was the turning point that first got you interested in it?

I cannot point to an exact "turning point," but rather a lifetime of circumstances. My grandparents were refugees and my parents grew up during the Great Depression, given that, at an early age I learned that the world is filled with inequality and suffering. I volunteered for nonprofits as early as my high school years and continued such a focus throughout my professional career.

How do you live it out daily?

Serving on three nonprofit boards, donating to causes I believe in, mentoring those who request and funding women-led startups when I have the means.

Words to live by

"Success isn't about how much money you make, it's about the difference you make in people's lives."  -Michelle Obama

Personal definition of sustainability

Limiting the negative impact I have on our planet as best as I possibly can and inspiring others to do the same.

Tips for individuals who want to start adopting a more sustainable lifestyle

So many, but here are a few: Walk instead of drive when it's an option, purchase consignment clothing when you shop, replace your lightbulbs to LED models, try turning down the AC and opening up your windows, stop pouring chemicals down the drain and limit your use of plastics and single-use serving utensils.
