  • Where are you quarantined, since when and with who?

I have been in London since lockdown, together with my flatmate Sara.

  • What has been your best quarantine activity?

Everyone keeps saying how much time they have during lockdown and how enthusiastic they are to finally have some "spare time". I started off lockdown buying a guitar, cookbook and new art pencils. However, today, we find ourselves 3 months into lockdown and where did all that time go? I guess having a startup and especially in a global economic crisis, you just keep working and keep going. Somehow, I've found myself busier than ever and it's the same for Sara as she also runs an Ayurveda focused startup.

The key has been my weekly (daily?) Aperitivo moments. At 6 o'clock, the bar opens. We transform our office spaces into the Amalfi Coast with some great coffee table books and Aperol spritz enjoyed on the balcony.

  • What fun things are you doing online to stay connected to your family, friends and team?

Because work has been VERY online focused lately, I prefer to go offline as soon as the day is over. However, WhatsApp video has been used more than normal and I love the casual pyjama business meetings these days!

  • Helping from home: are you supporting any particular nonprofit or relief efforts?

I am working very closely with Saheli Women, a rural women's empowering development in rural Rajasthan. They've been having a very tough time during the lockdown in India, having all the businesses shut down from one day to the next. By securing their workflow and keeping the women working on embroidery at home, it has been very rewarding to see that they're coming through the lockdown well.

  • How do you stay positive and keep calm?

Calm has never been my forte but positivity is my strength. I believe everything has a meaning and that humanity will: 1. Learn from this and 2. Realise how connected we all are as human beings and with the earth itself.

  • Complete the sentence:

Being in quarantine has given me a new appreciation for nature. Over and over again. The bird song, the sky, the clouds - it is all just so beautiful and we never take time to appreciate what is all around us. Being able to stop for awhile has, for me, really opened my eyes, made me grateful for what we already have and for what I have personally achieved.

  • What's the first thing you want to do post-quarantine?

TRAVEL! I dream about walking barefoot in the sunset on the beach...
