BEA VALDES

Art to wear, pushing the boundaries of existing design, creating pieces that go beyond fashion

The Brand Bio

Founder:
Bea Valdes
Established:
2004
Headquarters:
Manila, Philippines
County of Manufacture:
Philippines

Bea Valdes established her workshop in 2004 with the vision to design pieces that would ultimately be regarded as "art to wear". Bea has always envisioned her workshop and artisans developing into a globally respected showcase for Filipino craftsmanship.

The designer, whose career began in interiors, has expanded into creating stunning beaded accessories, objects, and art installations. Her popularity among stylish women and collectors around the globe has surged.

Today, Bea remains faithful to her creative process by working in her Manila-based atelier with a community of local artisans who constantly push the boundaries of existing design, creating pieces which go beyond fashion - these are keepsakes, and objects that have a life beyond a season, to be passed on as heirlooms. For Bea, the most important components of her entire enterprise have always been the people, the artisans, and the quality of the workshop - the very heart and soul of her endeavour.

Her collection features crystals and semi-precious stone encrusted bags, embroidered glass drop necklaces, distinctive neckpieces, hand-embroidered vests and sash belts swathed in beads - all proudly handmade in the Philippines.
