Look Mate teamed up with Designer HEDOF for WWF's Tiger Conservation Campaign. Since last century we lost 95% of this iconic species in the wild. Last year, for the first time in decades, the population of tigers increased. WWF have an ambitious target to double wild tigers numbers to at least 6,000 by 2022, the next Chinese Year of the Tiger. This is our way to contribute to this project. Look Mate will continue to donate 20% of tiger socks to WWF. Wear Tiger Socks by Hedof, raise the awareness of WWF's Tiger goals, and look effortlessly cool.
Designer Bio
Rick Berkelmans' work consists of a vibrant mix of strong shapes, weird characters, and bold colours. Never being too much in your face, Berkelmans always makes sure his work is packed with a certain attitude, casual but clever, tactile but professional. The distinctive touch to his work is Rick's love for printing techniques, which combines his fresh illustrations with a nice vintage look.
Rick lives and works in Breda where he runs his oneman design studio Hedof. Clients include The New York Times, Google, Facebook, Red Bull, and the Red Cross, among many othes.
The aim behind Look Mate has always been to work with aspiring creatives to bring a product that cuts above the rest in delivering a high quality, everyday item. Look Mate's graphic designs are by all types of creatives, from furniture designers to visual artists. The socks are then produced by a father-daughter team in Armenia, in the hometown of Look Mate's founder Vahan Hovhannisyan, incorporating quality into the company’s DNA from day one. The socks are tested time and time again until perfection is reached.
