Product Description
This printed 100% organic cotton kaftan features delicate traditional Lucknowi hand-embroidery.
The print is inspired by a Bakhtiari carpet and represents the Persian garden of paradise, the utopia of an earthly heaven that spread through ancient Persian literature, art and architecture. The Cypress trees represent the afterlife, roses represent innocence, the lotus represents rebirth, the tulip is for prosperity and the star represents mysticism.
These beautiful kaftans are made from organic cotton that is traditionally handwoven and hand-loomed in one of the last remaining traditional mills of its kind in South India. Muzungu Sisters continues to value and champion hand-embroidery, which is sadly a dying art.
