As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to escalate, Daily Bread Food Bank has had to shift their operations dramatically. In the first three weeks alone, Daily Bread's onsite food bank experienced a 53% increase in clients. The need across Toronto will only continue to grow - and exponentially - as the financial impacts of the pandemic are realised. Throughout this challenging time, their goal has been the maintain uninterrupted service of food delivery to those experiencing poverty, while keeping staff and volunteers safe.
Daily Bread Food Bank distributes fresh and shelf-stable food, and fresh-cooked meals to 130-member agencies and 170 food programs across Toronto. While at the same time, working towards long-term solutions to end hunger and poverty and running innovative programs to support individuals living on low income and experiencing food insecurity.
